Wiltons – Second Oldest Restaurant in London

Wiltons is the epitome of timeless elegance, passion and dedication to excellence which it has always had, throughout the centuries!

George William Wilton opened his shellfish-mongers close to Haymarket in 1742. Nearly 278 years later, he would have had no idea that his business would still be prospering. Wiltons has become a synonym of British Fine Dining.

Nowadays, in 2020, Wiltons continues the tradition started three centuries ago by serving the finest oysters and seafood.

The menu offers a variety of meat, fish, and also vegetarian dishes. For my starter I had the Jersey Rock oysters 🦪 which were delicious. My husband ordered the twice baked Cropwell Bishop Stilton soufflé 🧀 I am a big fan of oysters and the ones in Wiltons are definitely at the top of my (oyster) list.

The immaculate and attentive service makes you feel very welcome which adds up to the British Fine Dining restaurant experience. 🌟

For our mains we had Steak Tartare with Truffle Pomme Purée and the dinner special from the carving trolley which was Roast Norfolk Bronze Turkey with stuffing and pigs in blanket.

I still had some room for some desert – my favourite – 70% Amedei chocolate fondant
mandarin sorbet and chocolate crumb 😋

Wiltons is one of the most exceptional restaurants I have visited. I have been going there for years and the delicious food and fabulous service never disappoint! I highly recommend it for lunch or dinner. It is perfect for a romantic date or a business dinner.
